November Music in Den Bosch is one of the largest Dutch festivals for exciting new music. For ages already they follow their own unique approach to curate their festival and we have been curious about it for a long time. The festival made it possible for stargaze’s own Aart Strootman and Morris Kliphuis to compose two new compositions for the collective’s line-up. Both compositions will feature unexpected elements and electronic. We are also very happy to finally perform Deerhoof Chamber Variations by Greg Saunier (Deerhoof) again. And if this wouldn’t be enough, Greg decided to write us a second composition!
Joining the second edition of Kaltern Pop Festival, stargaze is happy to present a new collaboration with Robert Gwisdek alias Käptn Peng. Together with him and his drummer Pete, we gonna find out how to merge philosophical texts, spoken words, self-made percussion and classical instruments. Things will be a bit quieter for us at this year’s festival, as we will mainly focus on the new project, but who knows, you might catch us on other stages as well….
October 1-2nd, 2016 at Funkhaus Nalepastraße, Berlin
“…So it’s basically ‘creator’s jail’…..but on a volunteer, not arrested, basis, and in the Michelberger. But still, they’re all kind of under ‘haus-arrest.’ And: forced to play. Not a bad idea! I’m liking this a lot. I’ve written a screenplay like this in the States where they book you into a hotel and don’t let you out until you’re done. Great room service, tho. Not as good as Alan, but still good. Kidding. Not about the screenplay. That actually happened.”
Dear everyone, thanks so much for your support, kind words, shared pictures and enthusiasm, celebrating David Bowie and his manifold music with us.
For all peeps in the UK, you can re-watch the concert via the BBC Online-stream, available until August 29th. You can also listen to the recordings only. For people in the rest of the world, it’s unfortunately a bit difficult for now. You can listen to the recordings, but not watch the whole concert. The YouTube- Channel of the Proms offers some videos:

On initiative of Liquid Music (a series of the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra), we started a Virtual Residency with the Minneapolis-based band Poliça, which you can follow via the Liquid Music Blog featuring interviews with Poliça and members of stargaze, videos and pictures from our first meet-ups with the band and updates on our steps towards the premiere of our collaboration in November 2016, making it possible for stargaze to perform in the US for the very first time. So do keep track of our virtual residency with Polica, leading up to our US tour and debut in November, straight after that Paris gig!
